On December 17-20, 2009 EPF, together with GPOT, held a meeting of Armenian and Turkish media professionals at the Congress Hotel in Yerevan. The meeting brought together a number of distinguished Media Professionals from Turkey representing such respected outlets as CNN Türk, Milliyet, Sabah, Hurriyet, Cumhuriyet, Akşam, Taraf, Referans, Hurriyet Daily News. Representatives of Armenian media and civil society organizations also participated in the event. Topics of the seminars and discussions included the results of All-Armenia town-hall meeting discussions on Armenia-Turkey relations, the state of irregular Armenian migrants in Turkey, the Karabakh issue and an overview of Armenian-Turkish relations in 2008-2009.
EPF also organized meetings for the Turkish media with a number of prominent Armenian political leaders: Edvard Nalbanyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Vigen Sargsyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration; Artak Zakaryan, Member of Parliament from the majority Republican Party; and Stepan Safaryan, Member of Parliament from the opposition Heritage Party. The journalists also met with Hayk Demoyan, Director of the Genocide Museum.
